Reflection
Topic:
Let me talk about how I choose this topic. The topic of virtual reality is very appealing to me. The idea of new ways of seeing and living things like dating is something that I felt passionate about. The purpose of changing things like communicating with your long-distance partner or meeting new people in a virtual space. Is a new concept that really made me want to know more and share it creatively with my audience. When I start doing this video, I wanted to convey how people can use the VR headset in virtual dates.
Development:
To develop what I wanted to share, I did a thorough investigation where I found great sites and articles that cover the information that I need it. Then, I started planning my video. Once I found the research, I knew that I wanted to recreate some of the dates that couples usually have. For this I went out I did some sketches. After that, I started to compile my information, look for images that fit with the topic, write my script, and record the audios with the summary of my research. Once I have all the material, I recorded my intro, middle information and comments, and my outro.
For the parts where I spoke in the camera, I had to look for the best framing and lighting, so, I decided to face a white wall in my room where the light was incredible. But I realised that I need something for my background otherwise It could look boring for the video. I remembered that I had some led lights anywhere in my room. Then, I thought that since the video was about dating and romance. It would be appropriate to draw some hearts on a red paper to add more decoration to my background, even I wear a red swatter with a heart and the word love to match with the video. Once I had all prepared, I started to record.
This time I dedicated the video to an audience with a long-distance relationship or single people who want to meet new people. In my video, I offer a unique and safe opportunity to be with your partner without leaving home or the chance to meet people in virtual reality without worrying about your safety or the discomfort of the process of the first dates. In this way, people can feel identified and be engaged with my video and found it interesting.
Now, let’s talk about my editing process. When I was editing, I set up all my material, overlays and footage that I had. Then I started looking for the appropriate music for the theme of the video, which I wanted romantic, but fun and “bensound” was a useful tool for this. During the editing process, I began to check that everything would fit in the right way, the images, clips, sketches, audios and music. Until my video would be the best possible creative way to communicate the messages I wanted to convey. Which will take us to the next section.
Challenges:
This time I didn’t have much problem with the editor. I had more practice so; I could handle put all my material more established in the right way. However, one of my biggest challenges was that when I was checking that everything was right. I had already been editing 2 min when I realised that I was not very comfortable with what was being the result of my video. (In this part I understood many YouTubers when they don’t have their videos on time simply because the video didn’t fully satisfy them). But hey, a friend checked out my video and gave me some recommendations and then I decided to redo my intro and re record my audios too. I learn that nothing can stop you and if you feel that your work does not satisfy you, just think the thighs better, analysed how you want this stuff and do it again. Practice and learning by doing is the answer. Just check what I learn from my first time doing my videos. At first, I was too shy to speak to the camera and the editing process for my second video was a nightmare. Now all changed and I manage to do this video, which I enjoy pretty much, and I’m satisfied with.
